The gladiatorial way in which those who participate in MLB’s Home Run Derby take to the field is something to behold. A showcase of long-ball prowess that both players and fans alike love. With this year’s event set for Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at T-Mobile Park in Seattle, Washington it’s time to take a look at all of the past champions.

MLB’s Home Run Derby is special

As you can probably see from the list, it’s the great Ken Griffey Jr. who holds the record for the most Home Run Derby wins with three victories. Prince Fielder, Yoenis Céspedes, and Pete Alonso have each won the derby twice.

Who has hit the most home runs in a single round?

Though he may not have won more than one Home Run Derby, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. made the one that he did win memorable. To this day he holds the record for most home runs hit in a single round of the Home Run Derby with 40. Below you can see those who came close:
