New York Yankees confirm first reinforcement after World Series defeat
The New York Yankees are looking to next season after losing the World Series to the Los Angeles Dodgers in five games.
After falling 1-4 to the Los Angeles Dodgersin the World Series, the New York Yankees are looking to turn the page and have begun to make adjustments to their roster with the aim of remaining competitive when the new season gets underway at the Tokyo Dome in March 2025.
$2.5 million for Luke Weaver
The Bronx Bombers have decided to exercise their option for pitcher Luke Weaver for $2.5 million of the contract, ensuring they will have his services until 2025.
Luke Weaver dazzled last season in the MLB, maintaining a 2.89 ERA with 103 strikeouts in 84.0 innings of work in which he appeared; as if that were not enough, in his last 11.0 innings, Weaver allowed just one run and only four hits, striking out 24 batters.
