New York Yankees set to face Diablos Rojos in Mexico City
The MLB powerhouse will visit the Mexican capital in March at the close of Spring Training with the game the first time in 56 years the Yankees have played in the Aztec nation.
Mexico has become one of the preferred destinations for the Major League Baseball sides and before the start of the 2024 season, the most successful team in MLB history will visit the Mexican capital. This Friday it was confirmed that the New York Yankees and the Diablos Rojos del México will meet in two historic exhibition games at the Alfredo Harp Helú Stadium. These games will take place on Sunday, 24 March and Monday, 25 March.
The visit of the New York Yankees to Mexico will bring an end to their Spring Training matches with the 2024 season set to commence on 28 March. The side from the Big Apple get the new season action underway with a trip to Texas to face the Houston Astros with the Mexican side set to commence their 2024 LMB campaign on 11 April.

“The Red Devils will make their fans’ dreams come true by having the legendary ‘Bronx Bombers’ in their ballpark again”, was how the CDMX team posted the news relating to the forthcoming Yankees visit.
This will be the second time in history that the Yankees will play in Mexico City. In March 1968, the New York team played a series of two games against the Rojos del México at Parque del Seguro Social winning one game and losing the other. The Diablos won the first game by a score of 5-3 on Monday, 18 March, while the Yankees won the second game by a score of 9-1, on Wednesday, 20 March, 1968.
The Yankees and the Diablos Rojos are the most successful teams with the most championship wins in the history of their respective leagues, with the New Yorkers having won 27 World Series while the ‘Scarlet Gang’ bagging 16 LMB titles
