Charismatic Arozarena
The 28-year-old won over fans at the tournament with his impressive performances, displaying the great charisma he is known and loved for by followers of Mexico’s baseball team.
For the past three years, Arozarena has been on the books at the Tampa Bay Rays but his journey since leaving his native Cuba has been a very interesting and complicated one. He started out playing professionally in Mexico and later in the MLB.

In his homeland, Arozarena was earning just 4 dollars a month as a baseball player when he was 19 years old. It’s a whole world away from his current situation - in 2023, his contract is due to be reviewed so that he will be able to earn 4.5 million dollars.
This will be the first year of salary arbitration in which Randy Arozarena can obtain a multi-million dollar deal in MLB. From 2019 to date, he received the minimum salary granted in the Major Leagues, which is around half a million dollars.
