Mexican-Cuban Randy Arozarena outfielder had an outstanding 2023 season with the Tampa Bay Rays and established himself in the last edition of the World Baseball Classic representing Mexico during which he won the affection of fans.

Arozarena posted an offensive line of .254/.364/.425 (AVG/OBP/SLG) last season. He had 140 hits in 551 at-bats with 19 doubles, three triples and 23 home runs, in addition to driving in 83 runs and scoring 95. And on top of that, he attended the All Star Game for the first time in his career and reached the final stage.

Arozarena to stay on with the Rays for 2024

Today, it was reported that the player avoided salary arbitration and reached an agreement with Tampa Bay to secure a new contract worth $8.1 million for 2024.

Salary doubled

Arozarena has done well in negotiating by far the largest contract of his career - almost double the $4.15 million agreement he obtained in 2023 and represents the highest arbitration amount for the Rays.

In addition, within the team, he will also take home the third largest salary in the new season. He is surpassed only by Zach Eflin with $11 million and Brandon Lowe with $8.75 million.
