Sean Manaea returns to the New York Mets
The Mets continue to make waves in the MLB market and bring back pitcher Manaea.
After digging deep to sign Juan Soto on a 15 year deal for 765 million dollars, the New York Mets continue to make a name for themselves in the MLB market and continue to add big name players to their 2025 roster as the new season gets closer.
MLB Network maintain that the Mets have brought back left-handed pitcher Sean Manaea on a three-year contract worth $75 million. The deal includes $23.25 million in deferred payments, with these to be paid annually in equal amounts over 10 years beginning in 2035.
Manaea had a 3.47 ERA and 3.83 FIP in 181 2/3 innings of work last season with the Mets, making 32 starts, and was once considered for the Cy Young Award.
The player arrived in the Big Apple on a two-year contract worth 28 million dollars last season, but exercised the termination clause at the beginning of this offseason. The franchise put a qualifying offer of 21.05 million dollars on the table, which was rejected.
