Is Juan Soto going to stay with the Yankees?
Juan Soto is demonstrating a desire to prolong his successful tenure with the New York Yankees in Major League Baseball.
Dominican player Juan Soto has become one of the best reinforcements so far this season in Major League Baseball. The New York Yankees decided to bet on the outfielder to catapult the team’s offensive action.
The player arrived at the ‘Pinstripes’ via an exchange with the San Diego Padres, maintaining the contract he had signed. If an agreement between the parties is not reached beforehand, his stay with the Yankees will only be for one year before he leaves for free agency.
Juan José Soto Pacheco has proven his worth in every at-bat, averaging 317/.414/561 in 47 appearances. He has hit 11 home runs and 37 RBIs and has made it clear that he wants to continue for a long time with the ‘Bronx Bombers’, but this seems not to be enough.
According to insider Bob Nightengale, cited by Sporting News, Juan Soto and the Yankees will not reach an agreement before free agency in the MLB.
“Although Yankees owner Hal Steinbrenner has said he is interested in entering into contract talks with right fielder Juan Soto and agent Scott Boras to avoid free agency, and Soto has said he is willing to listen, the cold truth is that “There is absolutely zero chance of Soto signing before a free agent,” the report states.
