What’s wrong with the Dodgers’ offense?

The Los Angeles team’s offense has not been performing at a high level, and the franchise has lost five games in a row.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are currently leading the Western Conference of the National League of Major League Baseball. However, the San Francisco Giants are closing the gap and are in second place. In the month of May, the Dodgers have been struggling with their offense and their hitters, especially with Shohei Ohtani dealing with multiple injuries.

The team has faced five consecutive losses and is hoping to break that streak in the opening series against the New York Mets. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts decided to rest Shohei Ohtani for the second game of Tuesday’s doubleheader due to the hamstring discomfort he has been dealing with in recent weeks.

Mookie Betts explains the recent issues they have been facing

The Dodgers were outscored 16-8 in the last series against the Cincinnati Reds, but have had poor offensive showings in the last 17 games. Ohtani has been the leader of the Los Angeles offense with 13 home runs, followed by Mookie Betts with 8 and Freddie Freeman with 5. But lately, the three-star hitters have not been executing at a high level, and Mookie Betts explains why they have had problems this month of May.

You just have to move forward,” Mookie Betts told reporters. “There are no words that anyone can say that will suddenly make us start hitting. If that were the case, we would have done it a long time ago. So it’s just part of the game. Again, you just have to find a way. There is nothing anyone can really say or do. Well, I guess there is something: just do it.

Yeah, that’s exactly what it is,” Betts said of the need to hit at reasonable times. “But I mean it’s baseball. You’re going to have your ups and downs. You can’t get too discouraged or too excited. You just have to surf the wave. Unfortunately, we are not achieving that right now. Everyone wants to achieve it. It’s not that we’re not trying. But we are not achieving it. So we have to find a way.
