When is the 2023 MLB Little League Classic game? Who’s playing?
The MLB taps into the energy and magic of the Little League World Series when the Philadelphia Phillies and Washington Nationals play in Bowman Field
For the sixth time, MLB will join forces with the annual Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania and bring you big league action from Bowman Field.
Launched in 2017 with the Pirates and Cardinals facing off in front of an enthusiastic crowd and in an intimate setting, this year will see the Philadelphia Phillies and Washington Nationals square off on Sunday, August 20th at 7 pm ET.
“It’s always special to get a chance to see Major League players in a more youth-oriented environment and see that side of their personalities,” says Phil Orlins from ESPN. “MLB has bought into that access, and it’s the best we get for a regular season game.”
Playing in front of tomorrow’s talent, the current MLB players will be the focus of up close and rapt attention from all of the Little League players and that is something that is worth more than the price of admission.
With a capacity of only 2366 spectators, this will be the closest that many of these players will have felt to an MLB crowd in many years. Most of them would have played in front of larger crowds since their high school days, and there is a magic in the event that simply can not be replicated elsewhere.
