Which MLB players will play for Team USA in the World Baseball Classic?

LA Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw joins Team USA’s fearsome roster for the World Baseball Classic. It’s the first time that he will participate in the WBC.

Left-handed pitcher Clayton Kershaw of the Los Angeles Dodgers said yes to being part of the U.S. team that will play in the World Baseball Classic.

Kershaw is a nine-time All-Star, three-time Cy Young Award winner, and World Series champion with the Dodgers, but this is the first time he will participate in the WBC.

The World Baseball Classic will have 20 participating countries and will take place from March 8 to 21, with the final game being played at LoanDepot Park in Miami.

Team USA belongs to Group C along with the teams of Mexico, Colombia, Canada and Great Britain.

Kershaw signed a contract with the Dodgers earlier this month

The United States is putting together one of the most fearsome teams in recent times, with Mike Trout of the Los Angeles Angels as captain; and names like J.T. Realmuto, Pete Alonso, Paul Goldschmidt, Nolan Arenado, Trea Turner, Tim Anderson and Kyle Schwarber, Mookie Betts, among others.

The 34-year-old pitcher re-signed with the Dodgers on a $20 million, one-year deal earlier this month.
