Cuban Lourdes Gurriel Jr. was one of the players who attracted the most attention in the final stretch of last season and especially in the postseason with the Arizona Diamondbacks in Major League baseball. On 2 July, the 30-year-old was named an All-Star for the first time in his MLB career.

Gurriel, the younger brother of former Astros first baseman Yuli La Piña, finished the 2023 season with an OPS OF .772 and 24 home runs - a career high.

Three teams are interested in Lourdes Gurriel Jr

Lourdes, who was born in Sancti Spíritus, Cuba, declared himself a free agent for the next campaign, and his name has not gone unnoticed among the rumors this offseason. According to renowned insider Jon Morisi of MLB Network, the outfielder already has three teams that have shown an interest in his services.

I thought Lourdes really helped his value and you saw it up close in the World Series and the way that he played in the postseason. Whether it is the Atlanta Braves or another one of the teams that are not going to get [Cody] Bellinger because we know the Yankees want that outfield. The San Francisco Giants want that outfield. The Giants got a chance to see him up close in the National League West. Those three teams to me stand out: Braves, Giants and Yankees. We know there is some interest there in Bellinger but whoever doesn’t land Cody Bellinger I believe becomes a very strong favorite to land Lourdes Gurriel Jr,” Morosi said.
