The MLB All-Star Game is right around the corner, so the starters who will line-up for each team at Dodger Stadium in a few days have already been announced. The two top vote getters in Phase 1 of the voting had already secured their place in the field. American League rightfielder Aaron Judge, with 3,762,498 votes, and National League outfielder Ronald Acuña Jr, who collected 3,503,188 votes, received their fourth and third All-Star starting nod respectively, but now we know all the hitters who will play with the Yankees and Braves stars.

Ballot winners and Special Selections

The winners of the 2022 Chevrolet All-Star Ballot Finals came from the top two vote getters at each position (and four outfielders, since both leagues early selections were from that group). Fourteen teams will be represented in the starting line-ups of this year’s Midsummer Classic, with the Dodgers, Yankees and Blue Jays leading the way with two selections apiece.

To these players we have to add the already confirmed presence of two more players selected by MLB Commissioner as Legacy Picks in St. Louis Cardinals’ Albert Pujols and Detroit Tigers’ Miguel Cabrera. They will be the 33rd player for each team, with Pujols gearing up for his 11th All-Star appearance and Miggy Cabrera for his 12th. “Albert and Miguel are two all-time greats whose achievements warrant this special recognition”, said MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred. The Dominican Pujols will retire after this season while the Venezuelan Cabrera plans to play until 2023.

The Pitchers and the subs for both the American League and National League rosters will be selected through a “player ballot” system and announced on Sunday, ten days before the game gets underway in Los Angeles.
