Brad Paisley got things started before game 1 of the 2024 World Series in Los Angeles. For game 2, a 19-year-old woman from Sequim named Pearle Peterson had the honor of singing before the Dodgers went on to win game 2. New York has announced that Derek Jeter will throw out the first pitch on Monday before game 3. The Yankees need someone to jumpstart them as they try to take the series to 2-1 after two close games on the West Coast.

Who is the National Anthem singer for game 3?

Reports from the Big Apple have announced the name of the game 3 National Anthem singer. Leslie Odom Jr. will have the honor and responsibility of singing the National Anthem in front of over 50,000 fans at Yankee Stadium and for millions who will be watching on TV from all over the world.

Who is Leslie Odom Jr.?

The New York native gained national fame for his role as Aaron Burr in ‘Hamilton.’ He won a Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical for his performance in Broadway show. He has also had roles in TV series such as ‘Smash’ and ‘Person of Interest.’ He has acted in movies such as ‘Murder on the Orient Express,’ ‘Harriet,’ and ‘One Night in Miami’ in which he played the role of singer Sam Cook that gained him nominations for an Academy Award, BAFTA Award, Screen Actors Guild Award and Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor.

Yankee fans are hoping the native New York writer, singer and songwriter will bring the luck they didn’t have in games 1 and 2 to the bats and gloves of the “Bronx Bombers.” If Odom Jr.’s performance tonight with the national anthem is anything like his work on Broadway or the big screen, fans will be in for a treat for sure.
