Each summer, youth teams from around the world compete in local, regional, national competitions for the kudos of going head to head with the best young baseball talent from around the globe. The Little League World Series is an institution for more than 70 years now and as the teams square off, we take a look at past winners.
Defending champions Hawai’i didn’t qualify for 2023, despite winning in 2022, trouncing a mighty Curaçao team 13-3 in the finals. So this year, whatever happens, a brand new team will be crowned champion.
The winningest team in Little League World Series history is Taiwan, now known as Chinese Taipei. In total, Taiwan have won 17 titles, displaying a formidable talent for small ball tactics, racking up single after single and marching around the bases.
Region South 🇨🇿 has already enjoyed the World Series Opening Parade in Williamsport! The boys will enter the @LittleLeague tournament today at 7pm with a game against Panama. 🇵🇦 Good luck fellas!
The first ten years of the event, it was a US - only tournament. Several Canadian teams competed in those early games, until finally, in 1957, international teams were permitted to compete.
