‘Will Smith’ continues incredible World Series run winning ‘sixth straight title’
The Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Toronto Blue Jays in seven games, with another outing for the most prolific name in Major League Baseball.

This year’s MLB World Series had no shortage of potential storylines and it lived up to the hype.
The Los Angeles Dodgers became the first team since the 2000 Yankees to win back-to-back championships. For the Toronto Blue Jays it’s been more than 30 years since they last competed in a World Series and they were hoping to make history with a third championship.
Shohei Ohtani put on an incredible show for baseball fans all over the world as did his teammate 27-year-old Japanese ace Yoshinobu Yamamoto, who was named the 2025 Fall Classic MVP.
With the Dodgers win, ‘Will Smith’ became a World Series champion for the sixth consecutive season.

However it should be said that the Will Smith in question is not one player. Catcher Will Smith was in the Dodgers team that won the World Series in 2020 and 2024. In the years in between, pitcher Will Smith won three consecutive championships with the Atlanta Braves, Houston Astros and the Texas Rangers.
This year it’s the turn of catcher Will Smith to earn his third World Championship ring. He was briefly a doubt for the series after suffering a hairline fracture earlier in the postseason but will be fit to take on the Blue Jays.
“Yeah, it’s feeling good. It’s really close to 100 percent,” Smith said ahead of the matchup. “Looking forward to being out there playing and helping the team win... I feel like I could go nine innings right now and be good.”

What a comeback story
It turns out Will Smith is a pretty common name.
