Will the Yankees and Dodgers end up trading power hitters?

If Soto lands in LA, Hernández could become a prime target for the Yankees, who need a fallback if Soto leaves.

The Yankees’ biggest competitors for Soto include not only the Dodgers but also the Mets and Blue Jays, who have deep pockets and strong incentives to outbid New York. As for Hernández, his career consistency since 2019 makes him a valuable asset, but his price tag and the Dodgers’ aggressive plans could push him out of their lineup if they secure Soto or another marquee free agent.
