The Houston Astros are one win away from clinching their spot in the 2022 World Series, and sweeping away the New York Yankees. The pivotal Game 4, however, is still dealing with rain in Le Bronx.

Is the Yankees-Astros game postponed?

The league officially announced that the ALCS matchup is delayed, targeting an 8:30 ET starting time. And while the tarp is coming off, there is, however, a chance the game does not happen tonight if the weather conditions get worse.

The Yankees are no strangers to playoff disruption due to rain; they’ve had two games in the ALDS series against the Guardians postponed.

Yankees vs. Astros weather updates

The Astros, who created a 3-0 lead in the series on Saturday after shutting out the Yankees 5-0, are seeking an elimination game tonight to proceed to the world series.

This is the fourth time the two teams have faced each other in the playoffs since 2015, with Houston winning the last three series.

Game 4 was originally slated to begin at 7:37 p.m. ET. Astros pitcher Lance McCullers Jr. will be given the starting spot having been previously excused from his duties for Game 3, while the Yankees turn to Nestor Cortes to keep the team’s hopes of the World Series alive.
