2022 NBA Summer League pairings: Who plays who this weekend?
The winner of the 2022 NBA Summer League will be determined this weekend. Find out who your favorite team will be playing against as the games wrap up.
The 2022 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas is about to wrap up, and the young talent from all 30 NBA teams have had a chance to show how bright the future of the league could look like.
The teams that had the best records in the tournament will face each other in the Championship game. This year, the New York Knicks and the Portland Trail Blazers will vie for the trophy, as well as the rings that will be handed out for the first time in the history of the Summer League. Both teams have a 3-1 record after the four games that all the teams had to play.
Rising stars from the Knicks and Trail Blazers
The New York Knicks were powered by 2021 draft picks Quentin Grimes, Miles McBride, and Jericho Sims, with the trio delivering the bulk of the team’s points.
The Portland Trail Blazers were led by Keon Johnson in scoring, but the points were more equitably shared among other players.
The Knicks have been tallying an average of 95.3 points per game, while the Blazers have an average of 84 points. If New York wins, it will be their first-ever Las Vegas Summer League championship. Portland recently won the title in 2018.
The Knicks and the Trail Blazers will have their showdown on Sunday, July 17, at 3 p.m. ET at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.
