2024 NBA All-Star: These are this year’s uniforms for the East and West teams
With the 2024 NBA All-Star Game fast approaching, the league has released the uniforms for both East and West which is precisely why we’re taking a look.
Now that we know the NBA will be reverting to its old East vs West format as opposed to the captain voting that we’ve been subjected to over the last six seasons, the excitement about the uniforms is noticeable once again.
NBA unveils 2024 All-Star Game uniforms
On Thursday morning, the NBA unveiled the uniforms for the 2024 All-Star Game, just a few hours before the announcement of the game’s 10 starters. In what will be the 73rd iteration of the All-Star Game, it appears that the league has learned some lessons after the last few seasons saw progressively worse numbers in viewership. Indeed, following six seasons of Team LeBron vs Team whoever else, the NBA has finally taken the decision to revert to the East vs West format that we knew and loved in years gone by. Now, while many will likely be talking about Steph Curry’s omission from the West’s starting lineup, perhaps we can offer a distraction with a look at the newly released uniforms. You can see the jerseys for both below:
According to the league’s press release, the pinstripes on the uniforms “are inspired by the iconic Pacers uniforms in the late 1990s and early 2000s,” while the colors “feature a tonal twist on the classic red and blue uniforms with cream lettering.” It would appear that nostalgia is the approach here, as the league looks to take things back to the glory days. Where specific details on the uniforms are concerned, the circle around the 2024 NBA All-Star logo is worth noting in that it’s “honoring downtown Indy’s Monument Circle which surrounds the proud Soldiers and Sailors Monument at the center of the ‘Circle City,’” according to the NBA. The 2024 NBA All-Star Game will take place at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on Sunday, February 18th.
