Update:

The NBA All-Star Game has lost some of its lustre in recent years but the skills challenges are still a real spectacle. Shooting from range has become increasingly vital in the league and the 3-Point Contest pits some of the best shooters in the NBA against each other.

The 2025 field features eight players from eight different teams: Jalen Brunson (Knicks) Cade Cunningham (Pistons) Darius Garland (Cavaliers) Tyler Herro (Heat) Buddy Hield (Warriors) Cam Johnson (Nets) Damian Lillard (Bucks) and Norman Powell (Clippers).

Damian Lillard can make history with a victory on Saturday evening. He has won the previous two editions of the contest and could become only the third player in All-Star history to claim a three-peat. If he does, he’ll bank a tidy prize...

What is the prize for the 3-Point Contest?

To help boost the sense of competition around the All-Star Weekend, the NBA has moved to increase the rewards on offer. The winner of the 3-Point Contest will bag a $50,000 top prize, with $35,000 for the runner-up and $25,000 for third place. The next three highest scores will take home $10,000.

It’s a substantial amount, even for NBA players, but it pales in comparison to the rewards for the other competitions. The winner of the Slam Dunk Contest will get a $105,000 top prize, with $50,000 going to the runner-up.

As for the All-Star Game, the new four-team format has shaken up the competition and there’s a new prize purse for players. Each member of the winning team will get $125,000 prize money, while the second place team will get $50,000 per player. The other two teams will get $25,000 per player.
