Another record for Jokic: the incredible stat that only Nikola Jokic has ever accomplished before the All-Star Break
The Denver Nuggets are third in the Western Conference after the All-Star Break and Nikola Jokic is in the MVP race again posting previously unseen numbers.

The Nikola Jokic legacy continues to grow as he keeps on breakiing records, setting records and putting his name on record setting lists all by himself. The three time MVP is gearing up for the second half of the season, and if it’s anything like the first half, it should be historic.
Jokic back from injury
The Denver Nuggets are sitting third in the Western Conference despite having to deal with a handful of injuries to their star players at various times during the first half of the season. One of those players was Nikola Jokic who suffered a knee injury that looked like it could have been a lot worse at the end of December, but he is back and playing like and MVP again.
It was a game against the Miami Heat, and Jokic appeared to get stepped on by his teammate Michael Porter Jr. late in the second half of the game back in December. He went down clutching his knee and did not return for the rest of the game, and was forced to sit out the entire month of January.
Despite the 16 games that he has been forced to miss, the Joker still managed to do something that has never been done in the history of the league. The Nuggets have played 55 games, and they are 35-20 despite not having the Serbian for most of this calendar year. Despite only playing 39 of those games, he became the first player in history to score 1,000 points, have 475 rebounds, 400 assists, make 250 free throws, drain 75 threes and block 30 shots.
Number four coming for Jokic?
In the history of the league, no other person has done all of that before the All-Star Break. Joker did in in less than 40 games. He has scored 1,119 points, 480 rebounds, 417 assists, 76 threes, 257 free throws, and 30 blocks.
That gives him an average of an average of 28.7 points, 12.3 rebound and 10.7 assists. He is posting a triple double throughout the season, and is having a career high three point shooting season and a career high season when it comes to assists per game. He had the best season of his career last year, but failed to win the MVP and this year he is dangerously close to missing too many games to qualify for regular season awards.

He is in the running for the MVP, but he won’t be eligible for the award if he misses two more games. The Serbian has done a fantastic job over the course of his career keeping healthy, and while winning a fourth MVP would put him in elite category, Jokic is only worried about bringing Denver a second Larry O’Brien Trophy.
