After winning the Turkish championship title with Efes, Vasilije Micić has departed for the USA to hold discussions with the leaders of Oklahoma. It is yet to be seen whether the Serbian national team player will pursue his career in the NBA league following the negotiations.

As a quick reminder, Vasilije Micić was chosen as the 52nd pick in the 2014 draft by the Philadelphia team in the second round. However, he did not make the move to the NBA. Sometime after, Micić was traded to Oklahoma as part of a deal made by Philadelphia. It could be the next stop in his already successful and illustrious career.

Micić is a proficient basketball player who has played for several professional clubs, including Mega, where he was once teammates with NBA MVP Nikola Jokic. He has also played for Bayern, Zvezda, Tofaş, Žalgiris, and Efes and has achieved much success in his career.

He has won the European club championship twice with the Efes team in 2021 and 2022. Micić was the MVP of both final tournaments. In addition, he received the award for the most prolific scorer of the Turkish championship and was named Euroleague MVP in 2021.

He has won the ABA League, three Turkish titles with Efes, and a Lithuanian title with Žalgiris.

Micić has also earned recognition for his achievements with the Serbian national team, including a silver medal at the European Championship in 2017 and a silver medal at the Under-19 World Championship, the European championship for players up to 18 years old.

It is expected that Vasilije Micić will take on a leadership role for his national team in the upcoming FIBA Basketball World Cup. At that point, it will likely be determined if he will pursue his dream of playing in the NBA or continue his career with a prominent European team.
