Anthony Davis’ historic night in Mavericks’ narrow loss
The Dallas Mavericks lost their latest game against the Brooklyn Nets, but Anthony Davis made NBA history with his performance.
The Dallas Mavericks faced the Brooklyn Nets on Monday night at home, but ended up losing the game 113-109.
It was Anthony Davis’ first home game since his debut on February 8 when he got injured. He’s played in the Mavs’ last three road games.
AD makes NBA history
Despite the loss, Davis had a historic night. He ended the game with 12 points, seven rebounds, three assists, and one block in 28 minutes of playing time.
What made the game historic for AD is that he moved up on the NBA’s all-time scoring list. Davis is now tied at 67th with Jason Terry, with 18,881 career points scored, and is likely to surpass him in the Mavs’ next game.
Ahead of Davis and Terry on the list is Hall of Famer Scottie Pippen, who’s logged 18,940 career points. Number one on that list by a landslide is LeBron James with 42,036 career points and counting.
The Mavericks still have a chance at making it into the Play-in Tournament as they’re currently sitting at 9th in the Western Conference with a record of 37-38, a half-game ahead of the 10th seed Sacramento Kings. AD’s talents will make the difference in whether or not they can make a deep run.
