Are the Timberwolves eliminated if they lose against the Mavericks in game 4 today?
The Minnesota team needs to win Game 4 in Dallas on Tuesday night to force a Game 5 in Minneapolis. If they lose, their season is over!
In the upcoming Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals, the Minnesota Timberwolves will battle the Dallas Mavericks to avoid a series sweep. The game will start at 8:30 p.m. ET at the American Airlines Center and will be broadcast on TNT.
Following their 116-107 victory in the previous game, Dallas now holds a commanding 3-0 series lead. Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving were instrumental in the Mavericks’ win, each contributing 33 points. Dallas displayed impressive shooting prowess, recording a 55.9% field goal percentage and connecting on 50% (14-of-28) of their three-point attempts.
Minnesota struggles
Karl-Anthony Towns of the Minnesota Timberwolves has been struggling in this series. In the last game, he only scored 14 points on 5-of-18 shooting from the field, including an 0-of-8 performance from beyond the arc. Towns have been particularly struggling with his long-range shooting, making only 3 of 22 (13.6%) 3-point attempts in this series and maintaining a 4-for-32 (12.5%) record in his last 5 playoff games. The same can be said for Anthony Edwards, who has not been able to find his rhythm in the previous five games (taking into account the series against the Denver Nuggets).
Despite the difficulties faced by the Towns and the ANTs, Minnesota is a strong team on both offense and defense, making each game in this series very competitive. However, Minnesota’s season is at risk, and if Towns continues to struggle, it’s unlikely that they will cover the spread, and their season might come to an end.
