Bad news for Indiana Fever fans: Two of the team’s biggest stars are out for the season with serious injuries
The Indiana Fever have been dealing with injury issues all season and this weekend things got even worse when two more players were ruled out of the season.

The hits keep coming for the Indiana Fever who have been without Caitlin Clark for the majority of the year, and now two more players will miss the rest of the season due to injury.
Double dose of bad news for Fever
Sydney Colson and Aari McDonald were both injured early this week and the the worst case scenario was confirmed after their gme against Phoenix. Colson suffered a torn ACL and Aari McDonald broke her right foot, which means not only will the guards be missing the rest of the campaign, but it will leave the Fever with no healthy point guards.
Colson was signed over the winter and was getting 13.5 minutes off the bench, but on Thursday night she was carried off the court after suffering a knee injury in the first quarter of the Fever’s game against the Phoenix Mercury. The 36 year old saw her minutes and her role on the team amplify with Clark battling through an injury plagued season.

McDonald was picked up after the season started, but since singing with the Fever she has fit in nicely. The back up guard was getting 9.8 points and 4.7 assists a game since joining the team in June.
No timetable for Clark return
The timing of the injuries couldn’t have been worse for the Fever. The trade deadline closed only a few hours before Colson and McDonald went down, which leaves Indiana without the ability to make a trade. They will have to dip into the free agent market to fill the gaps in the roster.
There was a lot of anticipation and expectation for this Fever team, but with the injuries that have been keeping Caitlin Clark from taking the court, and now with Colson and McDonald out, it’s going to get awfully difficult for this squad that only has 9 players on the roster.

Indiana is hoping that Clark can come back before the final stretch of the regular season and into the playoffs, but there is no estimate for a return date. The former Iowa Hawkeye has been out since right before the All Star break after straining her groin. She has only played 13 of the Fever’s 32 games and at the moment they sit fifth in the league and in third place in the Eastern Conference.
