As per sources who spoke with ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Boston Celtics are considering the possibility of imposing disciplinary action upon head coach Ime Udoka for violating the organization’s guidelines.

Moreover, according to information provided by Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Celtics have determined that Udoka had also violated their code of conduct by engaging in an “improper intimate and consensual relationship” with a female member of their staff.

“Celtics coach Ime Udoka had an improper intimate and consensual relationship with a female member of the team staff, sources tell The Athletic. It’s been deemed a violation of franchise’s code of conduct.”

According to reports, Udoka could end up getting a lengthy suspension. However, the Celtics have not yet come to a conclusion regarding their choice.

Sources informed Wojnarowski that the length of any potential suspension could be decided by Thursday, even though it is not anticipated that he will lose his job as a result of this incident.

Udoka’s first year with the Celtics

Following Brad Stevens’ transition to the front office in June 2021, the Celtics made the decision to hire Udoka as their new head coach. In his first year as head coach, Udoka guided the Boston Celtics to a regular-season record of 51-31, which was good for second place in the Eastern Conference. In addition, Udoka was honored as coach of the month for his efforts in February and March.

The 45-year-old was the driving force behind the team’s run to the NBA Finals for the first time in the franchise’s history, where they were ultimately defeated in six games by the Golden State Warriors.
