Nike announced that it has signed Bronny James, son of LeBron James, to an agreement to use his name, image and likeness (NIL) in its campaigns. Bronny is already part of the release of his father’s latest signature shoe, called the Nike LeBron 20.

For as long as I can remember, Nike has been a part of my family,” said the eldest of James’ sons. “Getting a chance to team up with them and continue my family’s legacy both on the court and in the community is wild- it really means a lot to me.”

According to ESPN, Bronny has received offers to play with the USC Trojans, Oregon Ducks, Ohio State Buckeyes, Michigan Wolverines, Memphis Tigers and Kentucky Wildcats. However, the 6′3″, 180-pound point guard has yet to make a decision on which team to join.

As a high school freshman, James was the only player to appear in all 34 Sierra Canyon games and was named MVP in the game against St.Vincent-St.Mary, his father's alma mater.

The other athlete-endorsers

In addition to LeBron’s son, the Oregon-based company has signed student-athletes Caitlin Clark, Haley Jones, JuJu Watkins and DJ Wagner. Clark is a member of the Iowa Hawkeyes and Jones is part of the Stanford Cardinals. Watkins and Wagner are top prospects in college basketball’s class of 2023, though neither has committed to a school.

Bronny and the other four athletes all play at Nike-sponsored schools.
