Bucks 104 - 114 Suns summary, stats, scores and highlights | NBA
Beal followed up his best game as a Sun with 25 points as the Phoenix Big Three all ended the night with 25+. The Big Three is showing just how good they can be, and they are only going to get better as time goes on.
The Bucks lost their 4th game in the last 5, and the Doc Rivers era has got off to a bumpy start.
These two 7 foot+ phenoms went toe-to-toe all night. While Giannis may have ended up with more points, KD got the win and the highlight of the night. He had 14 of his 28 in the 4th quarter, but none were more spectacular than this one.
Booker ended the night with a team high 32 points, scoring 16 in the third quarter giving Phoenix a 15 point lead they would not give up.
There was just too much firepower on the court for the Bucks who couldn't keep up with the Suns Big Three who all put up 20+ points. Milwaukee came into the game without Damian Lillards missed the game with a sprained ankle and Brooks Lopez was back home as his wife just gave birth to a newborn baby. They would also lose Khris Middleton to a sprained ankle in the first quarter which left most off the scoring burden on Giannis who finished the game with 34 points.
The Suns trailed by a point going into half after scoring just 48 points, and hitting only one three pointer. Booker changed that a third quarter in which he would put up 16 points.
KD had just four points in the first quarter, but he would start to warm up in the second and was saving the best for last in Phoenix on Tuesday night.
Giannis and KD were matched up on both ends of the court for the majority of the game, and both gave each other problems on the offensive end to start the game. Whenever either one found a mismatch they were looking to expose it.
The Phoenix Suns returned home after a long road trip out East, and they did it in fashion with a win over the Milwaukee Bucks who came into the game missing a couple of starters and lost a starter along the way. The Suns Big Three all had 20+ as we continue to see them get better as each game goes by.
Devin Booker got things started off in the first quarter with 11 points, all coming from the mid range.

Suns starting five

Bucks starting five
Milwaukee closes out their road trip severely undermanned. Damian Lillard is out tonight, and Brooks Lopez will join him as he tends to personal issues. That means that the other Lopez brother, Robin, and Pat Connaughton will fill in the starting five with Giannis, Middleton and Beasley.
One of Bucks two stars out tonight
The Milwaukee Bucks will end their five game road trip against the Suns in Phoenix with both of their star players listed on the injury report tonight.
NBA Standings
When you consider the fire power on both of these teams, these are two teams that should be fighting for the top spot in their respective conferences, but right now that’s not quite the case. After going 1-3 in their last four since Rivers took over the Bucks have lost their grasp on second place in the East. The Cavaliers come into the night in second although both are five games back of the Celtics who are 38-12. The Suns are six games back of the Western Conference leading Thunder, but they find themselves in sixth place with the T’Wolves, Clippers, Nuggets and Kings between them and OKC.
Beal is rising in Phoenix
It was one of the signings of the summer in the NBA. Bradley Beal came to Phoenix just a few years removed from being one of the top scorers in the NBA. He teamed up with Devin Booker, and Kevin Durant and the Suns instantly became one of the favorites in the West. It’s been a slow start to his Suns career thanks to back and ankle injuries that have kept Phoenix from having their three super stars on the court, but things are starting to pick up as they get more and more court time together. Beal is coming off best game since making the move to the desert and he did it in the place he used to call home.
A work in progress
You have to wonder what Giannis is thinking after the first few games of the Doc Rivers era. The Greek was very outspoken about his teams’ deficiencies, especially on the defensive end and while it hasn’t been directly connected, there is a lot of speculation that the coaching switch in Milwaukee had something to do with the opinions of players, none more than the two time MVP. Since Doc Rivers took over on the sidelines, the Bucks are 1-3. The Bucks and Rivers are going to need time to build an understanding between them, but the first week has not gone according to plan for Giannis, Doc or the Bucks.
Suns last game
Phoenix wrapped up their seven game road trip with a much needed blowout win in Washington. The Suns jumped out of the gate scoring 42 points in the first quarter, and would shoot 61% from the field while holding the Wizards to 7/32 shooting from downtown. Bradley Beal led the way, scoring 43 points missing only five of his 21 shots against his former team while the Suns stretched their lead up to 32 at one point and cruised to victory to bring their long Eastern Conference road swing to an end.
Bucks last game
The Bucks have lost three of their last four games, including last game in Utah. Milwaukee went into the final quarter of the game leading by 12 points, but scored just 13 points as the Jazz erased a one time 19 point deficit and cruised to a 123-108 victory. Utah dominated the paint, scoring twenty more points in the lane, and grabbing 52 rebounds, as opposed to the Bucks 32. Giannis had 33 and 13 assists while Bobby Portis added another 27, but the Bucks went cold and Lauri Markkanen led the Jazz to a come back win.
We are live from the Footprint Center
Hello everyone and welcome to Phoenix where the Suns are back home after a seven game swing out East. They ended their road trip with a blowout win over the Wizards in DC, and now Booker and company return home for a NBA Finals match up from three seasons ago. Both of these teams look very different from the 2021 title series. Giannis and Booker are still the anchors of their teams but the Suns and the Bucks have a whole lot more fire power this year. KD and Bradley Beal have joined forces in Phoenix and Damian Lillard has made the Bucks one of the favorites in the East, although Milwaukee has gone through one coaching change, and struggled under new coach Doc Rivers.
