Campazzo’s chances of playing with Nuggets remain slim

Facundo Campazzo has barely played for the Denver Nuggets this season and in yesterday’s win over the Grizzlies, he played less than three minutes.

Argentine Facundo Campazzo’s fate with the Denver Nuggets isn’t looking good. The Nuggets are now qualified for the playoffs, so Campazzo’s chances of getting more play time are looking even more grim.

In the 2021 season, Campazzo played a much bigger role after several teammates were out with injuries. This season, however, he has almost no presence on the team. In yesterday’s win over the Memphis Grizzlies, he played less than three minutes of the game. This season, he’s only averaged 5.1 points and 3.4 assists in 18.4 minutes.

Campazzo’s two-year contract with the Nuggets will end this summer and his future is up in the air. His agent, Claudio Villanueva, said there has been interest from other teams in the NBA. As for Campazzo, he remains calm and patient.

“‘I’m super calm with the situation. I go to every training session with the goal of getting something positive out of each practice,” said Campazzo. “I will wait for my opportunity.”

The Nuggets will compete for fifth place in the Western Conference with the Utah Jazz. If they fall to sixth, they will play the Golden State Warriors in the first round of the playoffs.
