Celtics vs 76ers game 6 odds and predictions: Who is the favorite?
With a 3-2 lead in the series, the 76ers now have a golden opportunity to close out the Celtics on their home court in Game 6. Here are your picks and odds.
It’s hard to believe that just a few days ago, things seemed to be going swimmingly well for the Celtics. They had tied the series at two and their offense appeared to be firing on all cylinders. Unfortunately, game 5 was a complete disaster for Boston as they shot poorly from beyond the arc and got little from their bench. Now with their backs against the wall the question is, ‘Which Celtics team will turn up?’
Celtics vs 76ers: The lay of the land
76ers look to use home court advantage
Having won Game 5 in dominant fashion, the Sixers created a real sense of belief amongst their fans who would have watched the team come back from a 2-1 deficit to being on the brink of going to the Eastern Conference Finals. Now playing at home, you can imagine Philly is going to be rocking as they hope to close out the series without having to travel to Boston. It goes without saying that the Sixers’ newly crowned league MVP, Joel Embiid, will be a big part of that effort, as the team looks to overcome its long-standing nemesis.
Boston’s bench needs to step up
If one thing was clear in Game 5, it’s that the Celtics struggled with their shooting. With that said, both Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown put up some impressive numbers. Tatum for example, contributed 36 points, 10 rebounds and five assists, while Brown put up 24 points on 9-of-16 shooting, to go with six rebounds. So, what went wrong? The supporting cast and bench just didn’t do enough to be frank. That’s something Boston will definitely have to address if they hope to avoid elimination on Thursday night.

Celtics vs 76ers: The Prediction
As many have noted, there are great rivalries in all sports and as is often the case one team normally dominates the other for years, until finally the ‘lesser’ of the two is able to overcome their nemesis in glorious fashion. If you didn’t know, the Celtics have for many years been the team that has owned the 76ers. As such, there is a real desire in Philly to put their old demons to rest. On the other hand, this is the Boston Celtics we’re talking about and with that in mind, we’re finding it hard to imagine them going out in such fashion. Look for the Celtics to tie the series on Thursday night which will take us to a Game 7. Our score? 115-110.
