Update:

When the first iPhone was released in June 2007, Chris Paul was just completing his second season in the NBA with the New Orleans Pelicans. CP3 is widely regarded as one of the best point guards of all time and he is a veteran of 12 NBA All-Star games.

Now aged 39, Paul remains a key player for the San Antonio Spurs as they look to rebuild around Victor Wembanyama. The Spurs fell to a 111-121 loss to the Boston Celtics on Saturday but there was good news for Paul as he made yet more history in the NBA.

Chris Paul was named as a starter for the 1,305th time in his professional career, overtaking Reggie Miller for all-time NBA starts. Speaking on Saturday, Spurs acting coach Mitch Johnson praised Paul for his incredible career in the league.

It’s a testament to his longevity and what he’s done and all the milestones and accolades that he’s built up over his career,Johnson said. ”You know, it’s a humbling experience just to be a part of it."

Who has the most NBA starts?

Given his advancing age, Paul remains incredibly robust. He is yet to miss a single game for San Antonio this season and could get a renewal on his current one-year deal. For now, he seems eager to continue playing and he could work his way further up the leaderboard with another season in the league.

Paul has now overtaken Miller and is 45 starts off Jason Kidd at sixth in the all-time list. Here’s a full look at the players with the most NBA starts...

“Maybe a year or two. I’m still trying to feel it out,” Paul said in an interview. “I think the hardest part is, like I love this, like practice today, I love hooping, I love all of that.
