Dallas Mavericks offer major Anthony Davis update after false start
‘AD’ suffered an injury in his very first game for the Mavs, who have struggled without him, Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving.

Anthony Davis’ time at the Dallas Mavericks hasn’t got off to the best start following his shock trade from the Los Angeles Lakers, which saw Luka Doncic go the other way (you’ve probably heard by now).
Although ‘AD’ performed admirably on his debut, bagging 26 points and 16 rebounds to lead the Mavs to a 116-105 victory over the Houston Rockets, he suffered an adductor injury in his first game and hasn’t played in the NBA since.
In that time, Dallas have played 18 games, 12 of which they have lost. The effect of no Davis, no Doncic and no Kyrie Irving, who was ruled out the for season on March 3.
Anthony Davis injury news: will he play against the Nets tonight?
There is, however, now some light at the end of the tunnel as far as Davis is concerned. The 10-time NBA All-Star was initially ungraded to questionable on the Mavs’ injury report, although it has now been confirmed we will get a glimpse of him against the Brooklyn Nets on Monday.
He will likely have a minutes restriction, although the sight of one of the “top 75 players of all time” being back on court will be a soothing one for Mavericks fans.
After visiting the Nets, Dallas have road games against the New York Knicks (March 25), the Orlando Magic (March 27) and the Chicago Bulls (March 29), which will go some way to deciding whether they reach the postseason or not.
A completely healthy Davis, looking to get up to speed with his new team after a false start, will be a significant boost, and we should finally see exactly that sooner rather than later.
