New Yorkers are no strangers to crowded streets, traffic jams, and blockades arising from various city events. One particularly chaotic Sunday, they recently impacted the Detroit basketball players in town for a game against the Brooklyn Nets.
The city was hosting its renowned marathon race, which caused the usual major street closures, making navigating through the streets demanding.
As the players prepared to head to Barclays Center, the Nets' home arena, they quickly discovered that traditional transportation methods were not an option due to the extensive roadblocks.
With traffic at a standstill and alternative routes rendered inaccessible, the Detroit team had to think on their feet. Ultimately, they chose the New York City subway system as their best solution.

Riding the subway provided a unique experience for the players, allowing them to navigate the city beneath the bustling streets and avoid the congestion above.
It was interesting to see the NBA stars “struggling” with the daily problems of the average New Yorker crowd, and the other passengers were in disbelief when they saw them on subway line number 3.
In the end, Detroit arrived at the game on time and celebrated with a score of 106-92.
