The Phoenix Suns have their hands on a real gem in Devin Booker. The young shooting guard is one of the most talented players in the NBA today. Since being drafted in 2015, Booker has been an integral part of the Suns’ success, leading them to the NBA Finals in 2021.

All of this success comes with a hefty price tag, and Booker’s is impressive.

In 2018, Devin Booker signed a five-year, $158,253,000 maximum contract extension with the Phoenix Suns. This contract made him the highest-paid player in Suns’ history at that time. The deal kicked in at the start of the 2019-20 NBA season and will run through the end of the 2023-24 season, and also includes a player option for the 2024-25 season, which means that Booker has the right to opt-out of the final year of his contract and become a free agent.

Under the terms of his contract, Booker will earn an average of $31.65 million per season over the five-year period, making him one of the highest-paid players in the NBA, and rightfully so. Booker has been the most electric player on the court during these playoffs, and his performance certainly warrants his massive salary.

As an extra sweetener to the deal, Booker also has several incentives built into his contract, including making an All-NBA team, being named an All-Star, and leading the league in scoring, which will earn him an extra $500,000 for each incentive met.

Over the course of his tenure in the NBA, Booker has averaged 25.6 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game, been named to the All-Star team twice, and was named to the All-NBA Third Team in 2021. Most importantly, he helped lead the Suns to their first NBA Finals appearance in over 25 years, cementing his place as one of the premier shooting guards in the league today.
