Doncic injury blow: Lakers’ new star sidelined after explosive start
The Slovenian point guard is dealing with a finger sprain and a left leg contusion that will keep him out, according to ESPN.

Luka Doncic, the Los Angeles Lakers star, will miss at least one week after suffering a sprained finger and a contusion to his left leg, ESPN reported.
Fine Doncic start brought to a halt
Doncic had been off to a blistering start this season, dropping 43 points against the Golden State Warriors and 49 against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
In what is his first full season with the Lakers, the Slovenian standout will sit out Sunday’s game against the Sacramento Kings, Monday’s matchup with the Portland Trail Blazers, Wednesday’s clash with the Timberwolves, Friday’s contest against the Memphis Grizzlies, and Sunday’s game versus the Miami Heat.
Lakers start to the season
The Lakers opened the season with a loss to the Warriors followed by a win over the Wolves.
The team is also without LeBron James, who continues to battle sciatic nerve issues.
