Draymond Green justifies punching Jordan Poole
Draymond Green went on “The Pat Beverly Podcast” and spoke about the incident from last preseason in which he punched his then teammate Jordan Poole.
There is no denying that the Golden State Warriors’ chemistry changed after Draymond Green’s infamous punch to Jordan Poole prior to the start of the 2022-23 season. Now, the veteran power forward justified the attack on his former teammate.
Green appeared on ‘The Pat Bev Podcast’ and said the punch to Poole was not something spontaneous, but something generated over time.
“I don't usually hit people. We talk as time goes by. You don't usually blow up this fast over anything at that level. This is a team, no one on my team makes me explode in an instant," Green said. “We know that there are things that we do not say between men. I've admitted it before, I was wrong in the way I handled it, because of the situation we were in."
Poole is no longer a Warriors player after getting traded to the Washington Wizards for Chris Paul, a player Green has had his quarrels with. Despite this, he believes that they will be able to work together for the success of the team.
"Chris and I have had our differences over the 11 years we've played in the league," Green said. “I've publicly said I don't like Chris and I'm not going to say that's changed because he's my partner. [...] What I've always respected about Chris is his tenacity, his desire to win. Now I have the chance to be with him."
Likewise, Green explained that he never had the opportunity to establish a relationship with him now that they are both adults and coincide in the same team.

Jordan Poole's dad responds
Green’s justification drew a response from Anthony Poole, Jordan’s father, saying that he expected an apology from Green to ‘him and his wife’.
“I’m stand on this that’s is some bs. Jp was his guy and he avoid me all last yr. He is a soft as bitch and I’m standing on this and he didn’t apologize to me and my wife. So he lame and me and him can meet anytime he want,” Anthony Poole tweeted.
