Flagrant foul sees Warriors’ Draymond Green ejected from Game 1
A second quarter infringement from the Warriors player was deemed sufficiently serious to see Green ejected from the playoff game.
Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green was ejected for a flagrant foul shortly before the halftime period during the first game of the Western Conference playoff semi-final against Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday.
Green was originally penalised for a foul on Memphis’ Brandon Clarke with just over a minute remaining in the quarter. The match officials reviewed the action and saw Green grab Clarke’s playing jersey as the Memphis man was wrestled to the ground.
Officials took their time reviewing the play as the local Memphis fans chanted “throw him out!” The officials eventually came back with the decision to end Green’s involvement in the game citing a flagrant foul 2 which saw the 32-year-old ejected from the gamm with the Grizzlies leading the game at halftime.
