A month and a half remains in the NBA’s regular season, and the league returns to action on Thursday night after an exciting All-Star Weekend in Utah. While the teams will start their final stretch in the weeks leading up to the playoffs, some of the best players in the world will have to wait to lace up the sneakers.

Before the break, there were a handful of the NBA’s best players sidelined with injury, and coming out of the break some of them will remain on the sidelines as they continue to heal their respective injuries.

Here’s a list of the stars that are injured, and how long they are expected to be out.

Steph Curry, Golden State Warriors

The Warriors sharp shooter had already missed a big chunk of games with a shoulder injury earlier in the season, and he is in the midst of a second lengthy spell on the sideline after suffering a leg injury in a game against the Mavs on February 4th. The initial diagnosis was vague, with he Warriors claiming he had a left leg injury but test revealed he had partial tears to his tibiofibular ligaments and inerosseus membrane. What does that mean? It means he was originally ruled out for a few weeks, but will be reevaluated in the coming days.

LeBron James, Los Angeles Lakers

LeBron James not only the captained Team LeBron in Sunday’s All-Star Game, he came out and looked like one of the best players. He played with an intensity that no one else brought in the first half, up until he suffered an injured hand late in the first half. He went up to block a shot and jammed his hand on the rim, and was forced to miss the rest of the game. He is expected to miss up to a week but reassured Laker nation by saying “I tried to get one little chasedown block and got my finger caught in the rim, but I’ll be fine. I don’t think it’s not too much to worry about. For precautionary reasons, I just had to take the rest of the night off.”

Giannis Antetokoumpo, Milwaukee Bucks

The Greek Freak was forced to stand aside and look on as the team he was captaining won the All-Star Game. After sitting out the Skills Competition with Team Antetokoumnp, he started Sunday’s game, as a sort of symbolic gesture. After scoring the first points of the game on an opening possession dunk, he sat the rest of the way. On Tuesday he was diagnosed with a ligament sprain on his right wrist, and the Bucks are going to give him non surgical treatment until the pain goes away and he can return to the hardwood. As of now there is no indication of how long the two time MVP will be out.

Kevin Durant, Phoenix Suns

Kevin Durant has been out the longest of any of the sidelined stars. The former Net was inured in a game against the Miami Heat on January 8th and has not returned since. Jimmy Butler landed on KD’s knee and sent him to the locker room for the rest of the game. The next day, test’s revealed an MCL sprain on his right knee, which is the opposite knee that kept him out for more than 20 games last season. Brooklyn said from the start they would evaluate him two weeks after the injury, and since then there was speculation that he would return before the All-Star break. Since then he has been dealt to Phoenix, and now he waits to make his desert debut with the Suns. There is no date set, but Durant reassured fans that he would be suiting up soon.
