Giannis Antetokounmpo posts historic series numbers
The 27-year-old has attempted 27 or more shots in seven playoff games over the course of his career.
The season has ended for Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks after their Game 7 loss to the Celtics on Sunday.
Milwaukee fell to Boston 109–81 despite a huge effort from their six-time All-Star Giannis.
The 27-year-old has attempted 27 or more shots in seven playoff games over the course of his career. Five of those games came in this second-round series against the Boston Celtics.
For the series, Antetokounmpo accumulated a total of 237 points (for an average of 33.9 per game), 103 rebounds (14.7 per game) and 50 assists (7.1 per game).
It was very nearly enough to keep the Bucks alive into the Eastern Conference finals, but in the end Antetokounmpo’s brilliant series was wasted.
Giannis breaking records
Antetokounmpo is the first player in NBA history to post 200 points, 100 rebounds and 50 assists in a single series, according to ESPN Stats & Info.
He finished the postseason by averaging 31.67 points, 14.1 rebounds and 6.75 assists across the 12 playoff games his Bucks played.
The Greek Freak has also become the first player in NBA history to average a 31-14-6 line across an entire postseason.
The Bucks season is over, and it may be little consolation to Giannis, but he has earned a place in the postseason record book with his performances.
