Giannis Antetokounmpo reopens trade talks with Bucks, reports suggest
The Milwaukee Bucks star was linked with a move away over the summer and the team’s poor start to 2025/26 has cast fresh doubt on his future.

The future of Giannis Antetokounmpo is once again in doubt. The Milwaukee Bucks have made a poor start to the new season and reports suggest that the superstar is considering a move away.
Reports suggest that Antetokounmpo has reopened conversations with the Bucks front office regarding a potential trade. With the Bucks sitting at 9-13, the 30-year-old star may be tempted by a trade away from Milwaukee.
NBA insider Shams Charania wrote on X: "Giannis Antetokounmpo and his agent Alex Saratsis have started conversations with the Milwaukee Bucks about the two-time NBA MVP’s future."

Of course, this is not the first time that Antetokounmpo has been linked with a move away. Over the summer there was speculation that the two-time league MVP was involved in trade talks with the New York Knicks but nothing came of it. In October it was reported that Antetokounmpo was still interested in a move to New York but there could well be other teams interested in him.
Speaking in October, Antetokounmpo admitted that he had been tempted by talk of a trade away from Milwaukee after 13 seasons with the same team. He hinted at his desire to play in a team competing for championships.
“I’ve said this many times: I want to be in a situation that I can win,” Antetokounmpo explained. “I believe in this team. I believe in my teammates. I’m here to lead this team to wherever we can go. It’s definitely going to be hard. We’re going to take it day by day, but I’m here. So all the extra stuff does not matter.”
He continued: “I’m locked into whatever I have in front of me. Now, if in six, seven months I change my mind, I think that’s human, too.”
