Giannis Antetokounmpo says eating fruit has helped carry him to 6 consecutive 30+ games

The Greek Freak Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 32 points against the Pistons, making his 6th straight game of 30+ points. His secret? Eat fruit.

The Milwaukee Bucks are still the only undefeated team in the NBA at 7-0, and much of that is thanks to Greek star Giannis Antetolounmpo. In Wednesday’s 116-91 win over the Detroit Pistons, Giannis put up 32 points and 12 rebounds, making it his sixth game in a row to put up 30 or more points.

When asked what his secret is to all this success, Giannis revealed the reason:

“I’ve been eating a lot of fruits before the game.”

That’s right. Apparently you really should eat your fruits like you were always told growing up.

“I get a peach before the game. It gives me a lot of energy. It makes me feel good,” said Giannis. “After my pregame shooting, I eat a banana. I haven’t done that before. I think that makes me play better.”

On Monday, Giannis was named as the Eastern Conference Player of the Week (from October 24-30), for the 18th time for him in his NBA career. During that week, he averaged 35.7 points, 15 rebounds, six assists, and 1.7 blocks per game while shooting 55.1% from the field.
