Both teams are delivering one of the most interesting first-round playoff series so far, with the Lakers leading the Grizzlies 3-2, but who will win Game 6?

Before the start of the first-round playoff series between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Memphis Grizzlies, the tie was seen as one of the most difficult to predict.

The Lakers had the edge in terms of playoff experience and have the most clutch player in the league in Lebron James, but the Grizzlies had been the better team during the NBA regular season, finishing second in the Western Conference standings, only behind the Denver Nuggets.

LA took the lead by winning Game 1 but the Grizzlies quickly bounced back to tie the series. Lebron James & co. came out on top in the other two games while Taylor Jenkins’ team dealt with Ja Morant’s injury, and Memphis took advantage of Anthony Davis’ hip issues to shorten distances last time out (3-2).

Grizzlies vs Lakers: the odds

Despite Anthony Davis’ injury, the bookmakers make the Lakers favorites in Game 6 to qualify for the next round of the NBA playoffs.

A Lakers win is being paid 27/50 (1.54), while the Memphis Grizzlies, who will be looking to force a seventh and last game are the underdogs at odds 31/20 (2.55).

Another interesting market is the total points scored. Both teams scoring more than 218,5 points is priced at 22/25 (1.88), while the value remains the same if they score less those 218,5 points combined.

Grizzlies vs Lakers: Game 6 prediction

Memphis held serve in Game 5 and will be looking to make the series even more exciting taking them to a do-or-die seventh clash.

However, their mission now will likely be tougher, as they will be traveling to LA again to face their opponents at Crypto.com Arena.

Will Ja Morant and Desmond Bane repeat their sensational performance this time around? Morant ended Game 5 with 31 points and 10 rebounds, while Bane added another 33 points and 10 rebounds to force the sixth game.

Even if they are as inspired as on Wednesday, they will have to face a motivated Lakers side that will be playing at home with James expected to excel once again when most needed and Davis expected to help his teammates despite his injury.

The outcome of the game will likely come down to what version of Davis will show up. If he manages to overcome his hip problems, the hosts will have a great shot of making it to the next round, but if he doesn’t, the Grizzlies may edge it again.

Prediction: Grizzlies 108-113 Lakers
