Gun shots cause panic during Bucks-Celtics game
Milwaukee Fire Department confirmed two people were injured but stable after an incident in the Deer District.
The night of the NBA Game 6 semi-final playoff between Boston Celtics and Milwuakee Bucks could have ended in tragedy. Milwaukee Fire Department announced that gunshots had been fired in close proximity to Fiserv Forum. A 30-year-old man and a 16-year-old girl along with a third man suffered non-life-threatening injuries during the incident, fortunately no one was killed. All three victims were taken to hospital and are reported to be in a stable condition.
Almost immediately, videos from the scene began to appear on social media - images of panic in the Deer District (named in hour of the Bucks’ emblem) - the area adjacent to the pavillion where thousands of fans congregated for the game (on Friday, there were around 11.000) to follow the action on giant TV screens.
One the game had ended, police took control of the area, which was cordoned off. Local television showed of an injured man being carried to an ambulance and Deer District employees helping the police with their investigations.
