NBA LAKERS
Has Lebron James ever been out of the NBA play-in tournament?
The NBA play-in tournament for 2023 starts on April 11 and will run through the 14th.
With only seven games left of the regular season, the LA Lakers are on the season’s final stretch to find a spot in this year’s NBA play-in tournament. The California franchise finds itself on the 9th seed at the moment, even though they lost their last game against the Heat 118-108.
Darvin Ham’s boys have been without their star player LeBron James for the team’s last 14 games. Oddly enough, the team has been able to bounce from this and rally to win most of those games and position themselves for a play-in option. Anthony Davis has shine without LeBron on the court, and some question whether the King brings out the best in his teammate. But another loss will really put their options for play-in, in serious jeopardy.
How many times has LeBron James been out of the NBA play-in tournament?
The play-in started in 2019 at the Disney bubble as an experiment because of the COVID pandemic and the reduced number of games. Since then, LeBron has missed the playoffs and the play-in once, in the 2021-2022 season. Last year the Lakers finished as the 11th seed. Marking the first time in LeBron James’ career that he didn’t make the playoffs or the play-in.
