Hope in New York: Have the Knicks ever come back from down 3-1?
With a 111-94 win on Thursday night, the Knicks are battling back in the best of seven series as Indiana lead 3-2.

The New York Knicks refuse to roll over. On Thursday night at Madison Square Garden, the team from the Big Apple cut their deficit to 3-2 in the best-of-seven series and now have the opportunity to tie when the teams meet Saturday night in Indianapolis.
Jalen Brunson scored 32 points on 12-of-18 shooting and Karl Anthony Towns played through his injury to record 24 points and deliver 13 rebounds as the third-seeded Knicks led wire to wire.

“I just feel like we played better,” Brunson said. “We played to our standards.”
Towns believes the Knicks have to play with the same conviction in Game 6.
“We have no room for error,” Towns said. “Our backs are against the wall and every game is do or die. If we don’t bring that energy or execution, our season will be over.”

Knicks against history
Coming back to win from 3-1 down has only happened 13 times in NBA playoff final history and it hasn’t occurred since 2020.

However, New York have never in the history of these dramatic comebacks been part of this folklore with the Knicks having only been able to force a Game 7 twice: in the 1951 NBA Finals and the infamous 1995 series against the Pacers, which ended with a missed layup by Patrick Ewing.
