Update:
The Charlotte Hornets go up against the Atlanta Hawks in Thursday’s Play-In Tournament game. Here’s all you need to know so you don’t miss it.

The NBA postseason is in full swing, and the play-in games have begun to determine who the last seeds will be in both the Eastern and Western Conferences.

The Charlotte Hornets (10) are traveling to Atlanta to go up against the Hawks (9) to fight for a chance to stay alive in the Eastern Conference.

Hornets-Hawks: closely matched

Both teams had identical 43-39 records at the end of the regular season, and the winner of their matchup will face the No. 8 Cleveland Cavaliers, who lost to the No. 7 Brooklyn Nets 115-118. The Nets now take the seventh seed and advance to the first round of the NBA Playoffs where they will face the second-seeded Boston Celtics.

The Hornets-Hawks matchup promises to be a showdown between two of the league’s most sensational young guards- Trae Young of the Hawks and the Hornets’ LaMelo Ball. Young led the league in both total points and total assists this season. Ball, meanwhile, is currently the NBA Rookie of the Year, and has been integral to Charlotte’s offense.

The Hornets will be missing Gordon Hayward, whose left foot will be immobilized in a cast due to discomfort and will be re-assessed in two weeks.

Both teams, though lacking in defensive domination, are powerhouses when it comes to offensive attacks. This matchup could very well end up to be a high-scoring game.
