Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James is a basketball icon, and his popularity can easily be measured by how much people are willing to pay to have a memento of his glory.

The #6 jersey James wore in Game 7 of the 2013 NBA Finals sold for $3.68 million at Sotheby’s. According to the auction house, this was five times the amount a jersey used by him had previously sold for. Prior to the auction it was expected to reach a value of up to five million dollars.

The Heat clinched their third title in franchise history by beating the San Antonio Spurs 95-88 in Game 7 of the 2012-13 NBA Finals. In that game, James racked up 37 points, 12 rebounds, four assists and two steals. In 45 minutes on the floor, the man from Akron, Ohio hit 12 field goals, five of them three-pointers, and was perfect from the free-range line to score all eight he attempted.

The 2012-13 season was epic for James. He earned his fourth MVP nod for his regular season performance, and was also named the most valuable player of the NBA Finals for the second time in his career.

The uniform of the Chicago Bulls legend and six-time NBA champion was sold for $10.91 million, and the shirt of the historic Argentine soccer player was auctioned off for $9.28 million.
