The Boston Celtics and the Dallas Mavericks are set to tip off the NBA Finals this Thursday from TD Garden, and the Celtics fans are lining up to get a glimpse at a potentially historic series. The C’s are currently tied with the Los Angeles Lakers are 17 NBA titles a piece, and could become the winningest franchise in league history.

Boston back in Finals

Boston built a team that had one goal in mind this offseason following their disappointing exit from the Conference Finals last year at the hands of the Miami Heat. They brought in Latvian big man Kristaps Porzingis, and former NBA champion Jrue Holiday to bring the historic franchise back to prominence.

Led by Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brunson, alongside the best roster from top to bottom of any team in the NBA, Boston eased past the competition in the regular season. They went 64-18, taking the one seed in the East, and finished with the top record in the league, which earned them the right to host Game 1 of the Finals at TD Garden.

The Dallas Mavericks will meet the Celtics in the Finals, after finishing off the Minnesota Timberwolves 4-1 in the Western Conference Finals. They finished the regular season as the fifth placed team in the West, but surged up the standings once Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic finally found the chemistry that had been eluding them since the crafty guard came to Big D in the middle of last season.

After getting past the LA Clippers and the OKC Thunder in six games, they were set up with a Conference Final against another surprise team, the Minnesota Timberwolves. Doncic and Irving lead the Mavs past Wolves in the first two games from Minnesota and then closed out the series in Game 5 at the Target Center.

Celtics itching for title glory

With the Celtics sweeping the Indiana Pacers and the Mavs taking care of the Wolves in five games, the NBA and it’s fans have had to wait what has seemed like an eternity for Game 1 to finally come. The eleven days Boston fans have had to wait between the Game 4 win in Indiana and tip off to Game 1 hail in comparison to the 16 years they have had to wait since their last NBA Title.

That’s why Celtics fans are willing to shell out big bucks to make sure they are present to witness what could be NBA history. Winning Game 1 is a huge step towards lifting the Larry O’Brien Trophy, and you can bet TD Garden is going to be packed to try and help lift their Celtics to taking a 1-0 series lead.

As we inch towards tip off, there are still plenty of tickets left for the NBA Finals opener. The least expensive tickets are listed at just under $600. For $594 you can get a seat behind the basket, all the way up in the top tier of the Garden. Most of the tickets in the top tier range from $600 to about $750 if you want a seat near half court.

The closer you get to court, the more expensive tickets will become. The most expensive seat in the house is right behind the Mavericks bench, and that will set you back $11,693 dollars. Game 1 of the NBA Finals tips off from TD Garden on Thursday at 8:30 pm ET.
