Reigning NBA champions Denver Nuggets were given a wake-up call on Saturday night as they watched an Anthony Edwards inspired performance by the Minnesota Timberwolves secure a Game 1 win in Colorado in the Western Conference semifinals.

Nuggets fans will be anxious get get back on level terms before the series heads to Minnesota with Nuggets star Jokic full of praise for Edwards stating: “To be honest, he’s a special player. I have huge respect for him. he can do everything on the floor. You need to give him respect, how good and how talented he is.”

Edwards scored 25 of the Timberwolves’ 40 points in the first half of Game 1, finished with 43 points, and has scored 119 in the last three playoff games.

The Timberwolves have started this postseason in emphatic form with five straight wins and all of them convincing performances and Denver fans know that a win on Monday is imperative in keeping the series alive.
