How much is a VIP room or suite in the NBA?

With its fast-paced action and intense atmosphere, there’s nothing like seeing an NBA game live, but how much would it cost you to do so in VIP luxury?

GARRETT ELLWOODAFP

If you’re going to do something, then do it in style. From the Chase Center to the TD Garden, the arenas of the NBA offer some truly eye-opening services and suites when it comes to catering to VIP clientele. Let’s take a look.

The evolution of luxury suites in the NBA

It’s interesting to note that the concept and availability of luxury suites in the NBA is something that has evolved in recent years. Indeed, for quite some time suites were primarily available to large-scale corporations or partners of the franchise themselves. Quite frankly, most NBA teams didn’t even have the capacity to offer premium seating to local businesses and individuals. This of course has changed in recent years with construction of such facilities seen across the league. To that end, there is now a vibrant market when it comes to the rental of suites, making them available to regular fans, though at a not-so-low cost.

While there are a number of companies out there, Colorado-based SuiteHop can be considered one of the major players in the market with a wide range of packages on offer. Where pricing is concerned, it’s worth noting that suite rentals for NBA games are on average, more expensive than suite rentals for MLB games, however, they are noticeably cheaper than suite rentals for NFL games. The most expensive suites in the NBA can be found at Madison Square Garden (New York Knicks), the Toyota Center (Houston Rockets), and Oracle Arena (Golden State Warriors). By contrast, the most affordable suite rentals in the NBA are at the Wells Fargo Center (Philadelphia 76ers), the Pepsi Center (Denver Nuggets), and the Barclays Center (Brooklyn Nets).

As for what’s on offer in a suite, that can vary but generally speaking, you’re looking at vastly increased square footage in terms of capacity to begin with and then a number of amenities such as complimentary parking with a private entrance into the arena, a suite attendant, free food and beverages, alcohol available for purchase, access to club lounges, private restrooms, and in some cases the opportunity to meet players.
